A circle of girl friends...since high school and still going strong....

Today I had a visit from a circle of friends who have been together since high school...five tried and true friends who still enjoy the pleasure of each others company. I gave them the initial introduction to what I do and try to do in Whispers and Echoes Studio and then shared the pleasures and joys of the Arts here in Newark, Ohio. Then I proposed an idea...would they like to make some art??? Trusting and full of life and laughter they jumped into a small canvas collage with the paper collage red monkey in the jungle of their choice. No I did not have a finished photo of the project nor a photo of a real monkey. They giggled their way to using their imaginations and I would like to say I loved each and everyone of them...check out the photos later. I was in seventh heaven just playing with these wonderful gals. We are already making plans for a return visit and an overnight stay at the Cherry Valley Lodge and a Final Art Walk with an evening at the Midland. Life does not get better than this. They all bought some small cards and made a contribution to my staying in the studio another week!!! Thank you girls. Please email me your addresses and emails so I can add you all to my list for fun adult camps and adventures.

I also had a visit from my Erin and her three little ones for lunch...unfortunately I have some explaining to do to Mr. Cole because he really did not appreciate sharing me with the visitors. I know I can think of something to appease my little man. Morgan was hungry and needed her Grandpa for his undivided attention and little Lyndon was just a squeal a minute. He kind of sounds like a little parrot squealing to stay in our conversations with the whole family! My friend brought her little chunk of love with his Mother Heather for lunch at The Grill. You know how Grandmothers love to share their pride and joys of their hearts.

After the clean up I realized I was pretty tired and arrived home in time for a warm quilt and a cuddle. Ken made Cole some more fudge....he only got one piece of Grandpa's specialty dessert. I am going to bed right after I finish this post. I hope you all have a great week in your studio making your own monkeys!!! Imagine and Live in Peace, Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart

  2. Oh, what fun! I have a circle of old high school pals and lately, reacquainted myself again with my bestes old friend from our Catholic girl school days. We both have been through the ringer since we graduated, but we're both still here and are doing great! My other group meet for book club every month. We may or may not discuss the book, but it's good excuse to meet for dinner and just laugh!! Again, friends from my school girl days.

I love the monkey collage...really adorable. Have a great week.
