Renewal with friends who are also trying their survival skills during January...

I went to lunch with a dear friend and her daughter and they were such a joy...we caught up of the last too long months we have been separated by health issues and family needs. We went to Bake and Brew and spent two hours sipping iced tea and eating our sandwiches. We made plans to attend a movie and have an early dinner...just to get out and be able to talk without worrying about the clock. Gail gave me some very beautiful handmade papers to incorporate into my collages and possibly into some of my works for the exhibit coming up. Gratitude...where would I be without the love and support of the people who believe in me.

I hit Michael's today for a few art supplies and to run a store survey of what they have on sale for Sunday's big 25% off my total sale. They have an aisle where all the clearance items are being put out and if I get a chance I will try to return to select some elements that I would have shied away from because of the cost factors. We have a busy weekend already planned so I will see how my energy holds up. Deep calm breathing...visual strength and then just do it! Sometimes just keeping the momentum going is enough to get through your goals.

I stopped by my daughters to give her a tablecloth I picked up at Goodwill for a song and had a cup of tea with her as I read along with Maya Rose...her 20 minutes a day and to keep the skills and vocabulary growing. Unfortunately she chose to read a pamphlet from the door to door Jehovah Witness disciples ...and the subject was the end of the world...Yikes. We did read and she had a million questions about Noah...Jesus and his disciples work. I told her their faith was based on a God of fear...not my idea about the generous love of my heavenly father. We did learn about new words like destruction... destiny... persuasion... redemption. This is kind of a deep and dark reading my little lady was curious about but knowledge is powerful and talking together over a cup of hot tea seemed to be the answer. I love you Maya and I so enjoy being with you as you explore your ideas of faith. We did get to see her A+ math paper experimenting with acute and obtuse angles and the power of a protractor. She asked me to think about making a small quilt with her this summer...something she could make and hang on her wall. I had tears in my eyes and my heart was full of love when I realized she wanted to do something ...something like I do. You know I am going to be with her every step of the way!

I came home and had a spicy whole wheat spaghetti dinner..ala Mr. Ken! I went down with hi in the man cave as I attempting to finish cutting the slip part of the little dress. I am returning to my portrait of Kath and then off to bed. The sunshine was brief but oh so wonderful to look into the sky ... the sun is an amazing energy to my soul. 1. I like how you gently hold on to those who explore a dark and angry side to their higher power. I like how you hold on to their hands and gently show them the love and beauty and gentleness. Like a true gardener you plant the seeds of what I believe is a healhier, loving belief system. :)Bea
