my allotment garden...in collaboration with not all who wander are lost...

my allotment garden
is planted with heart felt memories and experiences that have nourished my wandering soul...
my creations in fiber and threads of colors
inspired by a young man who is autistic...a veiled mystery to behold
this child with a gentle spirit who has Graced my life...
his autistic spirit
is unfolding in his often slow movements of a gentle caterpillar...
with precise dance like movements waiting to reveal
the unfolding a silent expose
knowing the miracle of a butterfly
awaiting flight.
My allotment garden
is fertile with patient soils
and perennial flowers and indigenous wild grasses with the promise of seasons reborn in regeneration of brilliant colors.
Whispers on the gentle wind currents and dance in the sunlight
the gifts of the present... blooms on the daylily
Patience and calm quiet movements
and calm quiet moments
...the guardians of all artists.

  1. I love your batik like quilt at the top and the use of the buttons in the other one. I also appreciate the lovely poem which I assume you wrote. It is very evocative.
Don't worry about not remembering where you saw the dancer plaques as a child. I don't remember lots of things. Some of them from just last week and I didn't have brain surgery :)

  2. I've never read poems by you before, Mary Helen. This is very beautiful! And I love the art you're showing, as usual. Love and thans. Peace to you, dear friend. Susi

  3. Thank you all for your kindest of words concerning my poetry. I feel this is a safe serene avenue to share my thoughts and aspirations. I have held my writings close to my vest except for those I share with my Ken. Thank you all for your kind words. Imagine and Live in Peace, Mary Helen
