my first blog award...Yeah!!!
I received my first blog award from my artist friend Anne in Peru IN with her "Milargos...Little Miracles" blogspot. She has issues with health and stress and time management just like me but offers incredible inspiration to all who read and find solace in her photos, processes and writings. I am hoping to meet her in person in November because she lives about one hour from Ken's mother. I am crossing my fingers and toes that we all stay healthy and the Gods are with us for a safe trip so we can get together and share a space with each other.
My friend arrived safely this afternoon and we quickly gathered her up and went to Panera for a wholesome lunch to unwind from the increased airport security requirements. Travel is not for the weak or meek of heart...there are so many more rules but times have changed drastically since 9/11's attach on Americans. We then stopped by Erin to share the kids with JoAnn and poor Cole was not feeling well at all and they were on their way to see the pediatrician. Luckily he received some medication and plans to watch him closely for any drastic changes. The N1H1 swine flu has all parents on edge and you can never be too safe when you are protecting these precious cargo. Hopefully they will all be on the mend in the next couple of days. Winter appears to be arriving a little early and snow is falling in several states in our nation. Some are afraid others are anticipating the glorious white blanket.
The men arrived this morning at 8 o'clock and worked into the dark of the evening on our new roof. Unfortunately it is not as restful as our guest was looking forward to experiencing while she was visiting. We need the new roof before real bad weather hits Ohio and we never really know what to expect with the winter seasons. We may actually get some snow showers on Thursday...I rushed around to find some warm sweaters and socks for her to wear because they do not need them in Naples, Fl. I have been nervous having some one's son up on my roof working ...especially when it began to get dark; I do not want their Mothers to come after me if they get hurt on the job in my home. They are doing what needs to be done but it is much cooler than we used to having in October.
I will try to put a photo of my first "drawing" experience with the Gammil long arm machine quilting machine. I do not have the funds to even have one but oh what fun I had...it is so quick and I wanted to explore even more than time would allow. My artist friend knows more about different options for these new finagled inventions but they are all terribly expensive to own. I may look around for an option of a smaller one or used model...they all cost a lot of money when you do not have a job. Imagine and Live in Peace, Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart
