Wednesday...about 24 hours later.........the fatigue is catching up with me....

The cherry blossoms are whispering to me this morning.... the small birds sing their songs to announce their arrival.  The cherry tree was a gift from JoAnn Carlson over 20 years ago...1990 when were attending the Quilt Surface Design Symposium over in Columbus.  Every year the tree reaches for the sky and blooms more beautifully than before.  I am grateful for the gifts of a tree...the perennial rebirth of a friendship.  Thank you JoAnn...we are still connected much like the roots to the soil at the front of our cabin.  Spring is cool....we have had a frost last night...but the evidence is clear that we are easing into Spring.

I visited Kathy Anderson's class to see how her collage class was progressing.  It is a large group but the secret is to stay organized and one step of her students.  The adults in this class are in recovery and hoping to find a voice through their Art journey.  Kathy has an empathetic heart... an understanding of the individuals trying to find their way back to their path in life.  Gentle coaxing and reassurances guide them and they make their marks on the empty canvases...revealing clues in the layers of their collages.  I could not stay ...Candice and I were upstairs printing my desert flowers and their whispers at COTC.  I am going to really miss this young lady...she has her Senior portfolio exhibit on Wednesday night and some last minute editing of the film for United Way Campaign here in Newark.  Her graduation in next week and she has completed her studies in time to hit the road with her resumes. I wish her the very best!

  1. Beautiful spring post. The flowers are beautiful there.
I have an olive tree that my friend who I traveled to Italy with, gave me, after our trip. It is growing and I always think of her when I see it.
Hope you are getting plenty of rest!
