Messy Monkeys 2, 3, 4 year old messy artists............

Today was a very busy day with my messy monkeys......
2....3....4... year old artists exploring messy art....
Painting with bright blue acrylic with foam brushes.....
Creating their very own monkey shapes with their bare hands and the foam brush....
Making a jungle leaf pattern with rubbing crayons over a crystal dish...........
Exploring tearing jungle leaves and gluing to the circle cardboard....
Receiving their cardboard Art boxes...with some crayons and papers inside for the next week......
Rushing out to play in The Works play area.....
Having lunch with my Erin Elizabeth with Morgan and Lyndon at The Grill.........
Returning to my studio ...rethink the lessons learned and plan for next week...........
Finalize with Marcia  and make a short list of materials for next week........
Collagraphs and foam brushes... and a simple Monkey collage` from shapes attached with glue sticks.........
All in all there was only one meltdown...2 year old children have never been in this environment before.....
The gifts of hugs and giggles and even a few squeals ....
 Justin has a new tooth coming in...wiggle wiggle.....who is the tooth fairy???
 My gal friends from Dawes dropped by........Leslie, Kathy and Jenny........
Now it is time to make ART..........he went and got his own supplies and right to work...........it was not cold in the studio...he is styling.........
 Molly Mary came back for a visit ....she has grown so much.........
 Another young Sock Monkey FAN!!!!!!!!!!  I love his skeleton shirt!
 a crystal glass leaf dish..could we use this for a rubbing????
Vickie Pressy brought in "art stuff" to use and share  with others............I am grateful for her loving smile and generous spirit......

 little brother really loves his big sister.........so sweet........












This was Wednesday ............
Now on to my messy monkeys today!!!!!!!!
My intern Candace is making several views for the Columbus Zoo poster assignment............
 Erin was the first one to arrive with her little monkeys.......
This is a first time experience for Lyndon Allen.........he is a bit apprehensive......
 materials for the first experiences......
 Lyndon loves his monkeys!
 Little tiny Gwen and her Mom and there is a baby sister in the sling......what a tiny angel............
 Morgan likes this monkey in the jungle.............
 Poor tiny little Stephanie...she is not too sure this is for her............she is only barely 2.....
 Eric Carle's Slowly Slowly Slowly.....Morgan is assuring her little brother on the reading rug.........
 slowly ..slowly..slowly.........
 I had forgotten how exhilarating it is working with these tiny spirits.........
 we are almost there in the jungle..............
 look at this table.............
 wow where did these little monkeys come from??????
 ready..set.....paint the paper with the foam brush..........the littlest ones were enjoying the feel .....the touch... .the texture...a quick reminder ...PAPER only.no faces....
 reassuring the shyest  little one.......
 Blue paint for Isaac!!!  next week he wants a bright green....
 Evan knows exactly what to do with his box!!!!!!!!!!
 Gwen was so sweet.and look how clean she is !!!  The little lady in every way!
 Evan is ready to make his marks!!!!!!!!New crayons......a new box....wait until Daddy sees this new ART!  Check out his shirt.....full of bright ideas.

 Jack os checking his crayons ...one at a time....so precise and focused..........
Isaac rocks his monkey designs............he works slowly and quietly..making sure of his placement of his jungle leaves............
 Joanna Manousis has created some beautiful new works for her opening tomorrow....
 Can you see the bird in the glass bottle????stunning works ...amazing young artist!
 The Box donors......talk with the parents and grand parents....
 our Newark Fire Chief demonstrated his lights for Lyndon and Morgan...........


 Bella is carrying her box everywhere on the Central Gallery.......
 My two Messy Monkeys are ready for a nap........
 Happy Spring break!!!!!!! almost over....

    the glass piece with the face and also the one with the bird are just beautiful. Glass always amazes me, the process of creating art such a medium.

  3. Our guest artist is in reality is a tiny woman but so powerful with her works. The opening is tonight so I will try to share her newest works. She is off to Paris next. And YES...Barbara I was exhausted but the day was filled with optimism. Peace, Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart
