a son named Matthew Wayne....

I have been very busy working on the transfer of some photos of Matthew Shepard and learning as much as possible about his courageous mother Judy Shepard's campaign to erase HATE. I have been reading essays and poems written to honor this young man who is gone too soon. Looking at Justice, Peace, and Hate Crimes through the eyes of the Matthew Shepard's Law. As this intense law was passed over President Obama's presidential desk this law helps us all forge ties between communities unified by crisis and oppression;and affirms common challenges. Laramie, Wyoming will forever remain in the history books as the location where a murder changed the face of Hate Crimes for the entire global community. There are many victims of this brutal murder and Matthew died from his beating but two more families lost their sons that day. Aaron J. McKinney and Russell Henderson are now condemned to a life in prison for their participation and abandonment of a young man the same age of themselves. I do not want people to forget this tragic chapter of our lives and yet I want to honor Matthew and Judy for their heroism. Imagine and Live in Peace, Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart

  1. Fear breeds hate......knowledge, compassion and love can help fear. It's getting it all in the right place at the right time of a person's life. :)Bea
