Thank you Deepak....

Today was a day of gratitude from the beginning to the end. I did go to get my new license plate and my new license. No it did take more time than I had planned but the people watching was superb! My new license photo is well not as good as my last one... I asked her if I could just reuse the old one...don't we all want to return to our glory days? Then after an hour and one half... I headed down to the studio and I was starving!! I ordered a fried egg sandwich on swirl rye...just like my Catholic school days after the Mass ritual...and opened the day with making the business adjustments with the electric company. This business deal is hard for me...I need to wear both hats and I would rather just sit and create.

I worked on my new mannequin and completed her body veil in leaves and blossoms placed in just the correct place. While this was drying ...I went to work on my Whispers and Echoes Studio sewing machine sculpture. I plan on adding time pieces and reminders that the use and focus of time is a primary goal for this sacred space. I ran into to a small problem when I could not get the cap off my super tight Goop glue for metals to adhere the letters onto the antique shaped sewing machine. I will get someone to assist me tomorrow and share the results.

I read an inspiring reading by Deepak Chopra this morning and it stayed with me all day.
What is is to be alive?
Surrender to be Alive
You can be alive as you want to be through the process known as surrender. This is the next step in conquering death. Surrender is the act of erasing the line between life and death entirely.
Surrender is...
Full attention
Appreciation of life's richness
Opening yourself to what is front of you
Non-judgement
Absence of ego
Humility
Being receptive to all possibilities
Allowing Love

  2. Thank you for sharing the Deepak words of inspiration and wisdom Mary Helen.
I would be lost without a rubber gripper to open many jar tops ... even with that some need more muscle than I seem to have in my arms...frustrating...I have been known to mutter "how can a little old lady have a pickle, when you have to be Hercules to open this jar" heehee!
Love to hear what all you are up to in the studio!

  3. Very inspirational words you have shared from Deepak. Love his books. Love your sewing machine and anxious to see the finished creation. You are one very busy lady! I know what you mean about having to stop creating and having to do business of daily living....it's like "do I have to?"... I just want to be a kid and have fun all day. LOL

  4. Lovely and so true...thanks Mary Helen. Hope all is well with you. I haven't been visiting many blogs lately, in fact, hardly any at all...have now completed my slaying of dragons and rats, but am now busy getting work done for a gallery that picked my work up in Phoenix, AZ. I'm very excited, but a bit anxious about getting it all done since I was given little time, but I'm very excited and happy that I'm finally out there, well, I've always been out there, but I mean my work, not my personality!! LOL Have a wonderful weekend and God bless.

    xxoo,
    Georgina
