I have had a full full day...

I went to the studio a little early to get the studio set for the last concert in our courtyard and my lunch date with Dalale and Susan...ala carte by Miss Dalale with wonderful sandwiches that delight the taste buds with their freshness on a whole wheat breads, baby carrots, fresh grapes and tiny sweet cupcakes to once again celebrate my birthday! I am one spoiled artist but oh what fun! We went out to get a free Velvet ice cream sandwich and listen to the music and visit with our patrons of every generation represented. I was so thrilled to see my dear friend's son and wife and his sister...Jon is home for a very short stay to hold his new son Jack. I pray every night for Jon's safety... he is stationed in Afghanistan in Kabul... a hot bed for such civil unrest and on the evening news. My gift of friendship encircles my days activities and energizes me soul to continue on. God bless our young soldiers who are are some one's precious son or daughter.

Tonight I volunteered for my beloved Midland Theater for the opening for their 9th Cabaret series with New Orleans ... Chris Smither. his iconic recording star and legend delivered his unique brand of blues infused folk; engaging the audience with his soulful songs, rhythms, masterful acoustic guitar and unique finger-picking style. The hours drifted away and I hated to leave the theater but I was blessed to be a witness to this incredible man's journey! Imagine and Live in Peace, Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart

my body is weary
but sleep evades my spirit...
