It was a hot humid day and working in the air conditioning was a reward in itself. I even slept in this morning without guilt and enjoyed my shower and my cup of coffee without rushing ...without guilt...pure peaceful moments to start my day of Art. I met with some small ones and they shared their day at the Works. I met another volunteer Ladonna and she shared her interest in my different processes. Since I was in a cool dry place ... quilting was an appropriate solitary outlet for my afternoon. Before I knew it the day was coming to an end. As I dropped some bills off at the post office, pick up a few more carving materials , went into Kohl's to pay off my bill and ran into my daughter and grand children. I heard a squeal of "Grandma" as soon as I walked into the door...Ken called me from Home Depot and we all made plans to meet for a cool dinner at Bob Evans. The kids could not come last night for family night ...and I missed them more than words could say. They are all getting ready to go to Myrtle Beach, SC for a week of sun and seashore waves. I miss them already but we will babysit for their puppy Mr. Domino. I am going to guard him with my life...Hannah asked me to swear on an "oats"...she means to say oath so you realize how important this commitment is for the next 7 days.
Today was Ken's last day of the school year and tomorrow he will have a well deserved golf outing! I am going back to my duties before I get to bed ...have a great evening! Peace, be with you! Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart
Sounds like an idyllic day. Doing something you love, connecting with family and relaxing. xox Corrine
