curious and curiouser...alice in wonderland in Newark

Today I was blessed to have a dear friend of over 24 years visit me in the gallery and hear my stories about each of the quilts. I am thankful for the patronage but I am a little tired of hearing my voice...it has been a long couple of months and I have a desire for making new pieces and experiment with new techniques and mediums. A group of students visiting from Perry county came into the gallery and did not want to leave when their bus arrived. I invited them to visit me in my new space and we could have a group lunch together and I might try to answer any of their questions. Mary Beth and Vickie gave me hugs and warm fuzzies...remember those from the 1970's when we were slowing completing the circle around the gallery. Another friend gave me a delicious lunch of chicken and noodles with a crisp salad...thank you Mr. Doug All in all it was a blessing being in the gallery with a receptive audience. Two veterans joined our circle and I thanked them for their loving dedication and service for our country's freedoms and for taking the time to visit the Works.

Tonight I attended the Weathervane's summer production of "Alice in Wonderland" and to be honest I did not know how to imagine how they would interpret Lewis Carrol's wacky novel. I need to reread this crazy book and I still have not seen Johnny Depp's movie version. The little actor playing Alice was amazing and of course I was full of chuckles with the Mad Hatter, the Red Queen, Humpty Dumpty, the White Rabbit, well the whole cast did not disappoint me. The scenic designers employed paints that would glow in the dark and the the Cheshire Cat scene was very interesting with a chore graphed art performance.
