My heart is breaking...

I am trying to type through my tears. A dear young wonderful man who is an ARTIST of the highest caliber died almost 24 hours ago when a suspected drunk driver hit his Rav4 red pick up on route 79 heading for home after the final production of My Fair Lady. i happen to see him when I was coming home from the art affair around 5:50pm on 21st street and Granville intersection. I smiled when I saw him proudly displaying the Weathervane Theater poster/banner on the side of his beloved red truck. I thought to honk my horn and be one of those obnoxious people who HONK to try to say Hello! :O)!!! He had a cherubic face and a powerful laugh that could lift my spirits and he LOVED what he did and did what he loved. He served with me on the Licking County Convention and Visitors Bureau board and raised awareness for the humane treatment of animals here in Licking county. He gave everyone a warm loving embrace and passionately knew and believed that ART Saves Lives. I am so sad...my words can not come right now. I will always love you little man for the Joy you gave my life!!!! Imagine and Live in Peace, Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart

  1. Ooh my heart is braking with you. So senseless. The worst part is it sounds like he offered so much to your community. This is truly a sad day for all.

  2. Such a waste of human potential, with his death and the person that drank to kill their feelings resulting in killing another person. Two lives wasted. Tragic, I'm so sorry for your communities loss. :)Bea

  3. My heart has a hole in it this morning...Matthew was a great friend to all. No matter where I saw him, his arms opened wide for a hug followed by "how are things on the farm?" He will be missed!

  8. I am so sorry. It's so sad when you lose someone you know so dear! My granddaughter just lost an uncle yesterday so they are coming to visit tomorrow. So it is a good day to see her but a sad one for the reason.
