Thursday and the snowmen are coming on Monday....
The studio was busy today...I helped pack up Dalale's gourds so she could deliver them to the next stop on the Art Train. Her meeting went well with the visitor's center and she is off preparing for her next venue at the Buckeye Winery and the mayor;s second floor gallery. I have discovered the wood chosen for the snowmen was not appropriate and a new sheet of wood had to be purchased. Hopefully everything will work out just fine. I am like a child in a candy store and I am looking forward to painting Happy Snowmen!!!
I had a delicious cup of broccoli cheddar cheese soup from The Grill thanks to Steve Layman's treat. It was so heart warming that It gave me extra energy to paint my own three box snowman and readying the first selection of ornaments. Priscilla brought in two of her photographs for her January exhibit and the Soul of the Season Holiday exhibit. Her works are so thought provoking and she was sharing her experience of the "old darkroom experiences and the pros and cons" from her personal experience. Another patron stopped by and I think Priscilla will be able to solve a photographic disaster from years ago. I love having a place where others can come ...sit down... and share their processes and ideas. I just continued working while the two of them made plans to get together and make some repairs and reprints.
On the way to work this morning I was so honored to witness a beautiful red tail hawk swoop down for a small prey so I pulled my car over and stopped. The winged spirit flew to safety up in a bare tree and allowed me to actually photograph and document the splendor of this beautiful bird. My mind is already racing with inspirations with how I want to employ this spiritual gift. I think I will first print onto a sheer organza silk so I can overlay layers and add my possible prose and slow cloth stitching. Or maybe I should layer it with November's Full moon creation square for my Thirteen Moons work. Well I need to get ready for tomorrow and organize my clothes for the family photo shoot for Elizabeth's 90Th birthday. I am also a guest grandparent at Maya, Sabrina and Hannah's special luncheon tomorrow. After the lunch I am attending my dear friend's memorial service. Finally I am attending the Aids Task Force Art Auction in the evening from six to eight pm. Whew that is a full full day if I say so myself. Embrace the moment quietly with someone you love. p.s. Thank you Deb for the wonderful velvet squares and scraps...they will be perfect for small ornaments. Thank you for thinking of me :O)! Mr. Mike came in to see what I was working on at the work table.
