Monday for mindfulness.....resiliency.....recovery.....

I am going to take a moment ...to explain a bit ...of what I know right now.....  Ken had his bone scan today with very competent hands and gentle hearts to document the progression of his prostate cancer.  This is a not a secret...and nothing to feel shame for....but a condition if discovered early enough it is highly treatable.  We are looking forward to a long healthy life together.  The more information we have...the better our decision making skills will be.  We are all held in the hands of the heavenly father....and on a journey ...a path here on earth.   Do what you love..be passionate... and live each day to the fullest.

Tomorrow I am working with my dear artists at Dawes.  It has been too long...in so many ways ...since we created with colors and sacred marks.  Tomorrow I am sharing their works and stories ... I learn more from them and their gentle ways ....than I am sure I give to them.

Sunday was a special day to celebrate the pastel artists from here in central Ohio.  The High Road Gallery which is owned and run by Carol Hershey hosts this very talented group of men and women.  Abby Longshore has three pieces in this exhibit and the favorite one for me is of her grandfather as a  child milking a cow in the early morning.  Her baby chick will make you smile and her beautiful Palm tree will have you feeling very Jimmy Buffet like.  Way to go Abby!!!!!!

The party and award ceremony had just begun when I arrived....it was a beautiful day!
Justin in Tim's arms...Abby....her step mom and step sister and her Father came out to celebrate her special day.......
the road not taken???...sorry about the glare of the ceiling lights reflective on the framed works......
I fell in love with this geological aspects of this work.....
small chickadees.....made from spoons knives and forks by a wonderful artist Gary Hovey...I have more images to come...he is amazing!
the feel of the flow of water ...fluidity ...soft colors...... floating.....
deep in the woods...........a babbling brook........sunlight through the trees.....
another one of Gary's wonderful creations.............
a painting by the artist in residence.........it is large.......but I could not get a direct photo due to the small workspace........in this rented studio...
this gorilla should be housed at the Columbus Zoo for all the wee children to marvel at..........
he is so magnificent....and strong....someone said he weighs 160 pounds............
two artists....Mary and Abby share a joyful moment..........
the family is proud of Momma!!!!!  Aren't they a beautiful family?
a kitten caught in the kitchen chair............this made me miss my Desdemona.....

Abby and Justin's baby chick.....could this be the chick that is named after me?????  She is so cute and fluffy!!!!!!

this whale is totally so animated.........you could almost feel the splash of the water.............

 deep in artistic thoughts........
until the next exhibit..............carry on Abby...you are so talented............
Meredith Martin owns the studio and gallery at Sunbear Studio and Gallery in Alexandra........3 Main Street and the phone number is 740-924-2656

 sorry
about the light glare..the works are intimate compositions.......Americana at its best............

My favorite is Abby's grandfather as a young boy milking his favorite cow.............
and for the Kentucky girl...........I love the thrill of the Derby!
Amber Rose this one is for you.................sweet momma pig..........
the ceramics here offer a real sense of humor....lots of rough textures........
this could be Cape Cod......or Maine......but the lighthouse was a selective theme for this artist........
 cock-ca-doodle dooooooooooo!

I am pleased to introduce you to Gary Hovey.  A courageous artist who continues to create wonderful pieces of art while living with Parkinson's............
Abby chats with the brother of an other artist in her group...........
This is a photo of  Brian Potter with his aunt Jen on their way to a special retirement dinner............he will be a lawyer in one more year.........
I could not get them both to have their eyes opened in the same photo.....
I hope you will find your way over to the High Road Gallery and support these wonderful artists.  I have an early group tomorrow morning...so until then I wish you Peace.  Imagine and Live in Peace,  Mary Helen
