A day to wait...to catch up...and then make more appointments...

I worked from home today ...I just couldnot get my motors running this morning.  I tried to return calls to my doctors for over two hours...I forget every one gets ill over the weekend and tries to get in on Monday morning.  When I did make the connection I was able to get in to see my doctor this Friday...my triglycerides are sky high so we will need to re-evaluate the nutrition and medication profiles.

I received my notification from Quilt National by email...851 entries ...and only 85 accepted for preliminary photo presentation.  I know I do not know what the jurors saw and after revisiting Quilt National 2011 catalog I know my work just does not fit in with the jurors cohesive exhibit.  I congratulate all who are dancing with glee and know I will be seeing this exhibit next Fall.   I am sure it will be a fantastic exhibit filled with surprises.  They gave us a complimentary ticket to use when we come down to Athens.  I still feel the sting of non-acceptance but when I look back ...I have sold every quilt that was submitted to Quilt National.  I took the risk ...jumped off the abyss...and I will bounce back and continue my journey as keep my fingers busy quilting.

I found solace today in my kitchen.  The weather is crisp and the nights are clear.  I felt in the mood to bake some pumpkin muffins filled with walnuts and fresh blueberries!  I also make a pot roast with a ton of garlic ....baked in a slow low oven.  I made sauteed mushrooms in butter...real butter to mix into wavy whole grain noodles.  Ken came home and made a fresh spinach salad with strawberries, blueberries, and tart blackberries with a light strawberry dressing on top.   I love cooking comfort foods when the weather settles into long cool Fall evenings.

I am crocheting an edge on a rather boring beige sweater vest...using a variegated cotton floss to add a bit of details before I add mother of pearl buttons and crochet flowers for trim.  Now I am sitting back down to quilt for the evening...my colorful cotton floss in a simple chain stitch...are coming to life as my fingers lose a sense of time.  Tomorrow is a better day.  Imagine and Live in Peace,  Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart
