Sunday after Mopar...

Storms and torrential rains kind of put a damper on the Mopar hot rod fest last night. I visited another artist's home last night to give her some suggestions for reorganizing her home studio...she and her daughter were painting the little girl's room and having a "girl's night in" while Dad and the little boy were out checking out the hot rods. I then went to the grocery store for the week and made some selections for my lunch for next week. Before the night ended it was 10:00 pm and I was ready for bed. Today I sorted and selected items to move tomorrow...after I get a hold of the dentist ...I lost a crown while eating a toasted bagel for my breakfast. Damn I did not need this to happen right now! I put the crown in a jar...can one re glue an old crown back on??? I know how expensive these procedures can mount up in costs. I then need to go to the bank and set ups an account just for the studio so I can keep the costs and expenses separate for the tax man next Spring. I may have two little students tomorrow afternoon for a couple of fun activities. I am looking forward to working with these two little girls...they are thrilled to make their art and work in cloth.

I met a wonderful fiber artist once again...Diane Savona through Bea at Dog in the Hole post. Diana is in passionate pursuit of vintage fibers and hand made crochet items that she employs in an unique archeology approach to creating a fossils and a new tactile history. Her works are intriguing and invite one to touch and feel their story's journey. I need to get some little jobs completed now before bed so rest and live to create and play tomorrow. 1. I think Zeus had a crown reattached. Still, it's a pain to have to schedule a visit to the dentist in when you have a full schedule already.
I am in awe of Diane and her work. I was listening to a video about an interview of this older woman painter. She said that music is the highest form of art and that true art has to get an EMOTION from the viewer or listener. Music does that. She said that for artists to talk about a painting on an intellectual level was silly that either you felt something when you looked at it or not and the not was an emotion too. I look at Diane's things and feel something. Maybe because they are all women's things. Things from our mother's, grandmother's, etc. past? :)Bea

  2. Good luck with the crown, what an unfortunate thing to have happen. Thanks for the introduction to Diane Savona. Her work is inspiring!
