Reminders to myself... enjoy the silence...

"The way to do is to be." Tao-te Ching
I have had a quiet slow pace day here at home. I am cooking a pork roast in the crock pot, reading a book on on the flow of painting...paint the water... and being still. The day is hot and storms are moving in...but just being still with Ken and my small furry guardian Miss Rosie seems to be enough for right now. I am drawn to go to the studio but I do realize I have work to do here...if it cools off I want to make my cover for the wicker love seat for my studio and possibly move the chair and small couch in tomorrow. The colors are lovely and I think will create another invitation for those visiting to come on in and sit for awhile. I am dreaming consciously about appreciating the flow of making a life and making my art. I often waste my energies "rushing" to get to someplace, see someone... instead of standing still to listen to my heart and my breath ...the life in my body's vessel. I feel a sense of innocence ... being still is essential to my journey... I have so much to learn and yet I am here now. I am not sure this makes any sense when I try to articulate my passage...the journey...the process of my humble hands working. Enjoy the quiet... be safe...laugh and share a hug. 1. Hi Mary Ellen,
thanks so much for your comments. What a beautiful post, I know exactly what you mean, sometimes it is so important to just stop and listen, to your heart, and so much comes from the wellspring that it you. Your studio looks like a great place and it would be fun to let the paint flow with you. xox Corrine
