Friday and clean pure sunshine....

I had several visitors today...this young man is very curious about what I actually do in the space I call my studio...he is working with Mary Skrenta at COTC ...taking her drawing class and beginning his program for the Digital Arts.....

he was waiting for his ride home ...but I welcome people to stop by and ask questions....and give me feedback...
here is my beautiful intern until the end of April...she is a student...young mother of three... and I have her working with the Newark Soccer League's 2013 campaign...the tee...posters...tri-folds and so on...we are meeting with Keith next Wednesday.  The second project for graphic design will be preparing some color printed pamphlets for the APGA conference in May....
I have begun chain stitching with variegated cotton flosses on my quilt...my needles need to be very sharp for ease in stitching....I am planning on ...the hand dyed fabric is my impression of looking out West to the Outback landscape....hand quilting and bead embellishments

I have buttons and well a lot of work to do....
the days are so short in January...the day seems to fly by outside my studio window....
I am drawn to capturing the movement of the clouds  lately...they mesmerize me...I am not sure where this will proceed...........
tomorrow you all can register for a glass heart event in the glass studio with Larry Tuber....  be sure to call ahead...I am not sure how many slots are open...a great gift for your sweetheart....
I may be opening the Art Thursday  event next month...our dear and wonderful Lyn is returning to The King Center in Columbus.....open studio is open FUN!!!!
this is an example of the next month's central gallery exhibition...Duarte has a very gentle way with his street children.... he incorporates recycled materials to make some incredible art works....

the day is fleeting ..... I need to go and find a larger shadow box ...they are on sale for 50% off and I hope I have not waited too long to put the small quilted work under glass protection...............................................

Jenny Haer is offering two wonderful opportunities for drawing class at Dawes Arboretum
Drawing series is a three week program where you will experience drawing inside the greenhouse....the elements of design and composition ...plus techniques in shading techniques , and how to portray value....
Pencils are provided but please bring an 18" by 24" drawing pad.....
these happen to be on sale at Michael's this week....

Cones, Color and Cider is on Saturday 2/9 from 10 to noon on the Visitors Deck....you will observe and draw the foliage and winter colors...questions will be answered by the confer curator....
afterwards you will warm up with fire roasted chestnut and marshmallows and hot cider....  Give Dawes a call...you will love learning from Jenny...she has a gentle heart and is a wonderful artist.....

Here is my beautiful hand knit...hand felted ...woolen hat made by Cyd with her beautiful free form fiber designs ...I love keeping my head warm....and will open the exhibit next week with my beautiful chapeau....Imagine and Live in Peace,  Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart
