Monday Monday...

I am painting today on two panels ...one inspired by the graceful butterflies flitting around the blossoms in the arboretum.  The second panel is a somewhat abstract play with spring greens and lapis blues for the background statement.  JennyLyn brought her mother in to see my working studio and her father who is an art teacher knows Mary Todd Beam.  She is an incredible artist and teacher and they are going to invite her to paint with the volunteer crews  coming in on May 17th to work on the community participation.  I am preparing as many of the detail design elements so all we have to do is play with the process together.  My friend ...who is really a special art supporter, is flying in from Tucson for the first week in June for the "bucket truck" installation.  I am working on keeping it simple and enjoying each day's process .   If I begin to falter and let the fear creep into my heart...I begin to feel insecure.  I can only take one day at a time...showing up each day with focus and patience to work one brush stroke at a time.  Tomorrow my group comes from Columbus and I am thrilled to show them their contribution hanging in one of the first trees.  I know they will be tickled pink!  Imagine and Live in Peace,  Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart

    1. The skies are so gray right now with this unpredictable weather but the small test panels have withstood 65 mph winds and torrential winds. I find myself adding more layer s to each panel as I grow more courageous ...I am adding Luminere paints from Jacquard to add a special shimmer and reflective light. I am working 6 days a week plus my duties with my street children on Wednesdays. Peace, Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart
