Interviews, Boy Scouts, Mothers Day with my three favorite meatballs

My days are running into each other as the days come to an end and close to the deadlines.  I dyed some beautiful parfait layers of soft greens and yellows and some more requested oranges and hopefully deep golds.  I had visitors last Thursday from the boy scouts who were planning for their next sleep over the next day.  I asked them for feedback and a couple would love to see some more golds and oranges in the near future installed in the summer green of the many varieties of trees selected for this June.  On Saturday I was visited by two adorable sisters...Claire and Isabelle who are three and four years old.  They were celebrating an early Mother's Day with a picnic and a walkabout in Dawes.  These two young artists could hardly contain their excitement when I told them they could help me paint.  They ended up creating two fabric bookmarks with soft ribbons to use when they read their goodnight stories with a proud Mom and Dad.  On Sunday I had a special Mom's breakfast at Bob Evans with Tina Marie and her next door neighbor....no kids allowed just pure time out for Mom's on Mother's Day!!!! Later that afternoon we went to Erin and Chance's house for Meatball Mania with three of my favorite meatballs...Cole, Morgan and Lyndon.  There were fifteen of us all total for the best meatball dinner any mother could wish for.  Chocolate covered strawberries, tiramasu, and fresh fruits with angel food cake ...yummy desserts for all!  We learned about the new Avenger movie, played with the new laptops, colored with markers and danced as if no one was watching.  Three grandmothers, one great aunt, a best friend couple and their three beautiful children.  Casual ...warm... pure Love for everyone in the house.

Today I tried to put an end to the tooth and buried root problem... not this week unless we get a cancellation.  I also had an unexpected stop at my eye doctor's office....Roxie took my glasses off the night stand and chewed them.  Yes... chewed them!  My new best friend Rob spent about 20 minutes repairing the arms of my glasses.  I went to my Dawes studio and added my layer of deeper colors on top of numerous layers of dyes and stencils.  The SETA colors are the perfect medium when I am using the transparent selection of paints.  I added several grommets to double insure the wrapping installation with the suede leather straps and make the hanging for accessible and level during the first week of June.  I am sketching some panels in readiness for the big day of volunteers on Thursday.  The more ready I am ...the more ease my collaborators will have and enjoy creating this community art project.  I will get a more accurate account of how many I need to prepare for.  I think we will be working in both educational rooms.

I had the most wonderful Mother's day just being with my daughters and their families.  Breakfast with Tina Marie and Dinner with the three meatballs.  As you can see Justin is home from the hospital and giving his loving mother Abby lots of LOVE!  We love you J-bear and hope you continue to get stronger so we can catch a salamander or two!  I hope you all had some time to reflect on your own mothers.  With my mother being gone and Ken's mom struggling with the complications of being 92 and making a move to assisted living I find myself a bit saddened.  We only have the time we spend with those we love....and hopefully carry through our lives in our hearts.  Have a wonderful week in your studios and I hope I can get the photos to stay on the blog.  Imagine and Live in Peace,  Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart
