Moday with homemade stuffed green peppers...

I had a very nice day but I forgot my camera...I did start two canvases and will get to them tomorrow morning.  I found some more special beads for my Australian quilt and then stopped by Tina's little house.  I was missing my girls...Maya Rose was working on an art project working with cool colors.  She also read out loud "The Cay" ...a chapter where we discussed prejudice...where does it come from?  where is it learned?  and how do we address it now?  Tina was making delicious homemade stuffed green peppers and a fresh green salad with spinach and fresh mushrooms and wonderful tomatoes.  Sabrina was finishing her math assignment and little Hannah shared her Mystery Riddle book she had created for her mother.  It was 8:30 before dinner was finished.... but I found myself enjoying the comforts of being in a kitchen with Tina and her girls to be a heart memory.  I often find myself missing them for no special reason at all and tonight this communal dinner was just what I needed!

I am getting ready for my next collage questions....

Keeping a new Nature art sketchbook....
but we do need remember to have some levity and child like FUN approaches to making collages...
this is my once tiny Jade plant that was a gift from Tony and Kathy...this plant loves the front window...
I separated my huge Aloe plant...right now it appears to be in shock but hopefully it will rebound...
Roxie was just happy to have me home....Mom where were you???  And who is this dog named Domino????

(my daughters dog is Domino)
I am drawn to working with monoprints right now and I keep reading and seeing wonderful processes on other blog posts...I think when I come home from Tucson I would love to make an order for a Gelli plate and just explore the wonderful new process.  If you have any advice and special considerations please feel free too add a comment or email me.  I need to get busy now and back to my quilting... Cloth Paper Scissors has provided me with a concise lesson plan that I want to "cook on my back burner" or think about how I might want to work in this journey of print making.  Have a great evening.  Peace,  Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart

  1. Your daughter's house (and her family) sounds like a wonderful place to visit. :) Not to mention - stuffed peppers, yum! The pics of you are so cute. I love your glasses, and your pup. :) Happy (almost) fall! xox

  2. Having trouble with commenting, but I'm here! Love the morning glories especially, my grandmother always had them climbing her gingerbread house porch along the Delaware river. The place is surrounded by new construction today, sad.
