last night Perseid Meteor showers ...starlight blessings from above....

I knew I would have trouble sleeping last night....the night before Ken was to begin his next 8 weeks of daily intensive radiation treatments so I went outside to ...well just be.  The dark skies were clear....voices rose up from our valley with children up way past their bedtimes..squealing with delight as the meteor showers displayed their Powers in the August night skies.  I laid down on the front deck bench in my old terry cloth robe...listening to the crickets and cicadas singing in a symphony to delight those of us who were night owls.  I love these Perseid showers...I remember my friend Lu Ann from 20 years ago.... she was in the last stages of cancer so we loaded her up in her wheelchair onto her disloyal husbands pick up truck...and drove out into the dark Wooster,Ohio country landscape to enjoy the annual fire show in the skies.  I always feel as it I am communing with my Lu Ann each August night...a time to remember her smile...her laughter...our friendship.  Love always wins...so each time I see a falling star...the Perseid showers in August... I am reminded of the wonderful time we shared here on earth.  Love always wins.

We drove over to Columbus to meet with the oncology doctor who we will meet with each Monday.  He went over Ken's diagrams of the planned radiation targets...precise records are kept... the gold markers line up on their graphs each day before the treatments begin.  After 15  to 20 minutes...Ken is allowed to leave and go home to rest.  We drove over to Erin 's house...and he rested on the couch while the three little ones played the "Despicable Me" games on their individual tables.  I remember the days when a tablet...was something we practice our cursive penmanship on....now it has a whole different meaning.  Erin ran out to mail some her caramels and pick up a couple items at the grocery so we just spent the time with the grands.  As you can see in the photos...we made the best of the situation.  The fatigue is showing on Ken's face as Erin discusses nutritional needs Dad may need to investigate in the near future.

Morgan Elizabeth has decided to give me another beauty treatment...with all of her glorious nail colors...  we talked about the move to the house that is close to them...and how soon the move will be happening...which seems like an eternity to a 4 year old....

ready...set...go...how about Neon green for your pinky???
Lyndon Allen is a whiz kid on his tablet...and Morgan is showing Grandpa another game.....
Now Mr. Lyndon who is 6 years old...has lost 2 of his baby teeth in one week....when I arrived at their house he ran upstairs to show me his latest lost tooth.  Bravery !!!
Lyndon is trying to share his tablet with their beagle Conkle...who would rather just sleep for the time being............
I am amazed at the focus and speed these young people can employ when they are on their tablets....the parents have time limits...but the kids make hay when the sun is shining!!!
The graphics are amazing...I can only guess how advanced these games will prove to be as my grand children grow up....the miracles of modern science..........
the Minions have costumes that the players can earn as they improve their game cores....

Morgan has hundreds of Minions to chose from....

Lyndon has hundreds of Minions too...........the hand dexterity is really something to behold....
Mom is home from the grocery......I am no sure what Mr. Lyndon is doing....

Cole assures me that with practice....I can play this game too....I am not too sure but I am learning a lot from my kids.........
The race is on............who will get the higher score this time............???

How do you like my manicure???  I am definitely being spoiled here!  Thank you Miss  Morgan.
Grandma has a tutorial from Morgan now.....

Oh dear...I am so slow....but I am sure with their guidance and help I will improve.

I am ready to gather my stuff for tomorrow morning's group of ADD artists.  The rains are suppose to return tonight so I am not sure I will be able to see the show tonight.

Being fully present...
with all that we are....
We can experience each choice fully....
and make the most fulfilling choices.    We have 42 more treatments to go....Ken has gone to bed and is sound asleep now.  I am praying he will be able to sleep through the night.  Imagine and Live in Peace,  Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart

  2. What a colorful manicure! Kids on tablets, like us with coloring books of our youth. They are genius!

  3. Love your manicure. I also am in awe of all the kids do on their tablets. It is mind boggling. Once again be assured that you and Ken are on my meditation and love chart each morning. Hoping all goes well for both of you.
As to the "raining lights" of the meteor shower......isn't it grand? I am always drawn back in time to being kid on a blanket in the dark.....now I have to crane my old neck, no getting up if I get down. Costs of years.
