The sky is filled with fluffy white wisps of clouds... and the blue is totally waiting to be painted....
The bare red branches of a field of wild weeds and such is sparkled with water droplets...I failed to capture the soft fog rising up from the warming earth and melting snows...
My hill side is reaching to the blue of the skies... an affirmation in itself... a promise to be kept....
The burning bush of Fall days is glistening with dewy droplets sparkling in the morning sunshine....natural jewels until they evaporate... a metaphor maybe???
The road side brush sings a textural song...wouldn't this be beautiful transcribed in soft feathery stitches with beautiful cotton threads???
The warm smiles of old friends...a visit from my past...I am grateful for these threads of friendship.
The bare naked branches ...twinkling with the moisture ...rising up from the melting snows outside in the courtyard....
Soon the droplets will evaporate and the in months the gentle persuasion of a new season we will witness the opening of tiny green leaves....
Another gift from the heart...Chris Lang and I shared a quick lunch in the central gallery and shared dreams of adventure...hers to Mongolia to see the wondrous tribes of nomads and their beautiful horses. I still see myself in the Galapagos Islands snorkling with the dolphins and turtles...witnessing the new whale mothers as they breech the surface to share their new babies. This afternoon I found the latest edition of National Geographic island tours was in my mailbox!!!
I enjoy this shadow and light reflection play ...
Beautiful old mother of pearl buttons saved still on the cardboard....treasures from a unknown past chapter in life....
The beauty of our Newark courthouse ....with an arrival of deep rain clouds ready to clean away the dark remaining snows....
A wandering walking visitor...dropped by to see what I was working on....I fell for her gentle ways and her beautiful blue eyes so full of life....
Afternoon light is quickly disappearing ....
The sun goes down too soon on my day...in January...
This gives relevance to the knowledge that time was fleeting....
A quick visit to check in on my grand daughters...Sabrina loves her Domino...
Maya Rose is completing a Social Studies assignment about Medival times and the different political influences of the Church, the Crusades, Monarchies, feudal societies, and the many reasons for pilgrimages. Note cards...questions to reflect and answer and restating the knowledge enough for her to understand for Monday's test....
Mom Tina just got home from State Farm and immediately Hannah Marie climbs up on her lap.... I think she is happy to have Mom home for a couple days.
And now ladies and gentlemen...it is time for Math homework... I hope she was able to get most of it completed so she could relax over the weekend...
Group hugs............. I remember those hugs when they got off the bus at the end of the day....I was lucky enough to be able to be home most of the time for them.... a rare and special gift.
I am working on my quilt...I finished washing..separating...de-threading tiny mother of pearl buttons so they are ready and waiting to add to the details to my story and journey in creating my quilt for next week's installation. I wish you Peace and now...I am ready to return to work. Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart
