Tuesday and Wednesday...they seem to be overlapping...

Yesterday I gave a presentation to the incredible volunteers who contribute to making the Works a superior place/destination for all families. The coordinator had a wonderful breakfast meeting and I was invited to share my vision for my studio/gallery space. Then I was interviewed by a great woman who writes for the Advocate...our local newspaper. What can I say...I have so many different ideas and possibilities for the future. Then I met with a wood carver artist Larry Nawodney...he creates some pretty interesting Santa carvings but also brought in a very large wooden angel and a bait fish...??? I am never sure what is going to sell but a fishing cabin in Minnesota might just need a bait fish for Christmas...that was a joke but I will try. Then I went to pick up a few more cards for making individual Christmas cards. The I went to my daughter's for a homemade spaghetti dinner and then we were off to see Maya Rose's musical program....the 4th grade performed selections from "Annie" and the 5th graders performed music from "The Music Man". The music teacher named Mrs. Noyes... is a very dedicated and animated teacher and everyone can see that she totally enjoys her job. I drove home and fell into my bed and right to sleep.

Today I finished the short and abused snow woman I named "Rosie". She has survived last holiday season but without the third head snowball ...so that left me a big dilemma. I decided she could just be a beautiful short little woman with snowflakes and tissue cut outs to cover the evidence of abuse. Now she has a new hat with embellishments and looks like she is on her way to the Holiday Snowman Parade. I met with a few artists and worked with Maya Rose on her spelling and her first candle present for her teachers and parents. Grandpa arrived and they worked on the math part of her homework assignment. I drove her home and we experienced our first snowflakes today..a light white blanket of sparkles to open the month of December. Maya is sure she will have a snow day tomorrow...wishful thinking on her part. I came home and had a quick dinner and began working on my days assignments with a hot cup of Ovaltine. I think the photos will tell the rest of the last 48 hours. Imagine and Live in Peace, Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart
