Sorry I have been ...crazy to say the least....

On Saturday I went to the Granville Farmers Market...plus  when we arrived we remembered it was Art In the Streets of Granville!!!  What was not to love...great fruits and vegetables...unique sweet treats...Branstool Peaches ...live music...and Art every where you walked down the street!  I will share a few photos....later.  We had wanted to head down to Dawes Arboretum for the last summer concert and "Austin Powers" the family movie on the green...plus an adult home brewed Beer garden....but I am learning I can not write a check with my mouth...that my body refuses to cash.  I was in bed by 8 PM...until the next morning... the heat...high pollen counts...too much direct sun...and well a very busy schedule just wore me out.

On Sunday Ken and I went to the move..."The Butler" and it was a trip down memory lane ...each decade expressed in this movie brought me back to my life on Terry Road in Louisville ,KY.  It was interesting talking to Ken about the 60's...70'....80's...and even 90's through my eyes as a very sheltered white child from Kentucky.  Then contrasting Ken's memories and experiences of a young family oriented Black boy....one in nine children...during these same decades.  This movie is well done and please know there are still many obstacles we as a nation are facing....the 50TH anniversary of the "I Have a Dream" speech by Martin Luther King...we will try to find our own individual model and role to continue making equality a reality for all.  I did find myself in tears while watching this movie...the key is acceptance and understanding...we need to celebrate our diversity and heritages.

"The ultimate measure of a person is not where one stands in moments of comfort and convenience,  but where one stands at times of challenge and controversy."  Martin Luther King

On Monday we went over to celebrate our baby Lyndon Allen 's third birthday!  I made dinner and Erin was able to get two large orders of her caramels out and in the mail.  Lauren picked up the big ones...Cole and Morgan and we all shared dinner and cupcakes and candles ...a real Birthday party in the most intimate room of the home...the kitchen.

Today I had a fever and the Lupus rose its head to roar me to a stop...I spent the day in bed!  There are times when my body just says ...this is enough.  I am feeling better but I missed my wonderful artists at Dawes ...and on Friday we have a scheduled closing on the little house.  Wow so many changes in one month...on Monday we looked at house...on Tuesday we made an offer...and on Wednesday we were accepted!  We have made all of the appropriate preparations on the loans and insurance ..now it comes down to writing checks...and making the move.  I am hoping this move can be accomplished in slow deliberate small moves.  Two houses...what the hell was I thinking??  I do plan of setting up my Whispers and Echoes Studio in the cabin for artist retreats....and tomorrow I am going to look at antique beds for the two rooms upstairs ...individual rooms for each art participant!  Yes I am thinking crazy...but I just need to be still and remember to take one day at a time.  Imagine and Live in Peace,  Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart
