Last night I had a wonderful time making crayon encaustic/stamped /painted with green sparkle paints...for Halloween themed compositions. We laughed and cried...circuits were broken...recharged and ready to go again. The children seemed to be thrilled to melt down crayons for just about any reason! Then we added stickers and embellishments to make the the images even more thrilling! I will try to include several photos to share this simple process. I hope you will enjoy!
Today I had a very busy day in the studio. Several new visitors and students from COTC that I took over to see the Aminah Robinson's Art exhibit for their personal enjoyment. Tonight there was a lecture but since we had dinner plans I could not make both celebrations...maybe next time. We shared different ideas about the possibilities of them coming to visit once again. Alex is a wonderful polymer clay artist and I ended up buying her watermelon earrings from her secret stash. I shared my DVD from Tucson and we discussed how I might employ some of the photos onto one composition...the colors...the textures... depth and differences in the two landscapes. I am still processing the images but hopefully with time they will become evident in my sketches and dyes for color swatches. Imagine and Live in Peace, Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart
