I am grateful for a glorious weekend....

My days begin with cool refreshing breezes and warms up to an Indian Summer Day...
Reunited with a young quilt artist Sophie working on her first composition wall hanging....
Saturday in the studio for a couple of hours making Skelly assemblages ...just pure fun for Halloween...
An afternoon drive over to Columbus to have a very special dinner at The Worthington Inn...the same place we had our first dinner as man and wife...25 years ago on a day very much like this weekend! I am counting my blessing and I would not change a thing...the blessings we have received and how we have grown to truly appreciate each other's strengths and even our weakness. The restaurant had free live Jazz in the next room as we spent about three hours enjoying our quiet time in a beautiful place with each other. Ken ordered us the House Bruschetta for our appetizer... Roasted Sicilian tomatoes. fresh goat cheese.basil pesto, and a delicious Balsamic syrup on grilled Focaccia bread. I had the House salad and Red Oak lettuce , sweeten pecans, fresh goat cheese,Granny Smith apples and balsamic dressing. Ken had their Classic Caesar salad with toasted garlic croutons. Delicious and beautifully presented on white linen table cloths...fit for a celebration. Ken ordered the Beef Worthington ...twin center cuts filets, Gruyere potato gratin, sauteed spinach, Point Reyes blue cheese and Cabernet -mushroom demi glaze jus. I order Bacon spiked scallops with saffron risotto , sauteed garden vegetables and citrus butter. Oh my...it seems like this was the most delicious dinner we have shared together in years. The we should not have really ordered it...we tried a chocolate flour less torte with homemade Carmel-coffee ice cream. Well I felt I should have taken a walk...to work off this rich food and the atmosphere ...a trip back down memory lane on a beautiful moonlit night. I said I am so grateful for so Ken, my children, our families and circle of dear friends over the last 25 years!

I hope you have enjoyed a glimpse into my weekend... I have a busy week coming up and must get back to my regular household chores. Have a great week in your studios and remember to celebrate the child in your soul. Imagine and Live in Peace, Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart

  2. Happy Anniversary! Tomorrow, I think, the same as ours. We also traveled this weekend to where we were married.
