Monday and a quiet day of sunshine...
Today I had the studio to myself for most of the day...I painted my IKEA wooden storage unit and made a couple birthday cards ...one for my Maya Rose who is 11 tomorrow and a dear friend's wife's birthday. I realize I need to make a selection of cards for the needed special occasions like birthdays and anniversaries. I want to be prepared and ready when a client walks in and needs a special handmade card. I do need to pay the rent :O)! I collected my supplies for the Halloween tags and cards and the glow in the dark skeletons to hang in the window. My Amazon music came in this afternoon so I will have more inspiration for my Tea for Tuesdays...I am not sure if any one is coming but I love the ritual and ceremony of making this a scheduled experience for all who are able to come. I met with the Quill Office Supply representatives this afternoon but I was honest that I will not be ordering like I did previously when I ran the LCA Gallery. I went to deliver the cards and went to JoAnne's for remnants for the bags I am trying to design for the Holiday season...simple elegant fabrics to create affordable bags for every day use.
I met Ken for dinner at Red Lobster and we had a chance to catch up on his schedule and on line classes to continue his classification and certification...man even the very best teachers are having themselves tested and stressed by the ongoing state requirements. It was a good evening to go out to dinner and just relax with my best friend. I stopped by to see a friend whose daughter delivered twin boys and she has been busy helping her daughter with the three angels in the family. All mothers need and deserve a circle of loving hands from family and friends when they come home from the hospital with such precious cargo. When I came home Ken was busy with his classwork so my posts will have to be short...he needs this connection in the evening to stay on top of lessons and field trips...one on Tuesday and one on Wednesday! Have a restful evening and enjoy the quiet moments with those you love. Imagine and Live in Peace, Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart

ReplyDeleteCards are a good idea. We always need some cards.
I wish I could drop by for tea. What a blessing that would be.
I want everything in the photo that has the skulls!!!! And if I could run over, I would be playing with those! :D
ReplyDeleteI am hoping to be up to studio time today; we'll see. One more day of rest might be more beneficial. Will send you an e-mail about yesterday....if I can remember!

Cards are a great idea. I'd love to play in your studio too!
ReplyDeleteYou are always invited to drop in and make cards to "cover the rent". I would be so wonderful to have such giving hearts here in the sacred space to play and make spirited marks for Dia de Los Muertos! Thank you all for your generous love and support in my personal journey. Some days are better than others but you help me see how fortunate I am to have you all in my circle.
