Today is the day....

I have listened....questioned... tried to understand.... read both sides.... and hopefully everyone who has been witnessing this election process took their responsibility to heart and voted today.  I am tired of the ordeal this election has become but whomever wins ...I will support and pray for only the very best.  This morning before work I watched a 2004 HBO special....Letters to Home...written by our servicemen and women who sacrificed their lives for our country's rights to vote and have a democracy.  Poignant and insightful images of families left behind... I hope you all took this responsibility to heart and voted to the best of your ability.

I worked quietly in the studio and had lunch with a dear woman who lives and works in chronic pain...she came in late to work but she came in.  Her courage is remarkable and she works to improve and protect the lives of those less fortunate than most.  Social services ...a heart profession performed in love even when it is not the best of days.  I so admire her determination ...but I hope she does have a conversation with her doctors to at least investigate alternative methods of healing for her.  She thanked me for taking the time to cheer her up and just ...well listen.  She walked out into the sunshine and remained in and on my mind for the rest of the day.  We both appreciate the power of practicing gratitude...simple gifts and small mircles that give us grace .  I remembered that when I taught special education I used to ask my students to "listen with their hearts"....we could all benefit from this simple affirmation.

I had a wonderful little visitor to day...his GiGi is Marcia Downes and his name is Jack.  Heather is his mother and her other young mothers had spent the morning at The Works for Curious Kids activities.  They were closing up the morning with a lunch at the Grill Deli and coloring their pictures with their own crayons.

Heather and jack Downes stopped by for a play date at The Works....boy does he look like his Daddy!
No....it is not my nap time....I want to color ....
another family sharing their time with The Works...
Betty stopped by...she is here for her brother's funeral...a sad time but she is such a sweet lady.  I found out we live in a small world ...her niece is an artist from Zanesville...MaryAnn Bruscani ...I do not know if I have her spelling correct.

Betty reminded me to live ...create ...and shine in the sunlight...simple gifts...

If you need a special card for Thanksgiving...just let me know!   I might be able to help you out.  Now on to Christmas....I have Art to make!
I finished the day completing my Thanksgiving cards and the selection process for Christmas projects for 2012.  Tomorrow I think we are creating a collage from wild watercolors to a funny turkey with words of gratitude....just a thought.  Have a restful night and tomorrow we will start all over again ....pray for our president.  Imagine and Live in Peace,  Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart

  3. I voted and then came home and went to bed. I'm still sick.
Although I was happy when I woke up and turned on the News.
Sadly I had to spend the day listening to people rant.
I even received text from people who think the world is about to come to an end.
I'm am amazed that all my family and friends think one way and I, another.
    Oh well! Time will tell.
